Pitch AgriHack competition is calling for applications from tech-based startups providing services to agriculture for an opportunity to win cash prizes up to EUR15,000 (US$16,750).

The competition which is supported by numerous partners is hosted by the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Co-operation and the African Development Bank (AfDB).

It is open to young ICT startups from African, Caribbean and Pacific countries, offering services to the agriculture sector. Interested entrepreneurs must be under the age of 35 and have an already developed e-agriculture/ICT4Ag application or platform.

The competition is divided into two categories:

  • Early stage – for solutions which have been developed but still need software or business model improvements
  • Advanced stage – for startups already in operation and generating revenues.

Startups selected for the competition will be invited to join a business training bootcamp prior to participating in the pitching event, both to take place in November in Nairobi, Kenya.

Asides from cash prizes, the winners of the competition will receive promotional support, additional capacity building and networking opportunities.

Applications are available here, until September 25, 2016.
