Entrepreneurship events every Nigerian business owner should attend this March

Last week, the Young Entrepreneurs of Nigeria (YENNigeria) held the 2017 edition of the Youth and Women Empowerment Congress (#YAWEC2017) at the NECA Event Center, Ikeja, Lagos.

The event had in attendance, leading lights of the Nigerian entrepreneurship ecosystem like Adebola Williams of Red Media, Nnamdi Ezeigbo of SLOT Nigeria, Muna Onuzo, founder, Gazelle Academy and many others. Sadly, many who would have loved to attend the event missed out due to being oblivious of it happening.

The Innovention Series : How Technology is Driving Africa’s New Narrative

Date: Thursday, 23rd March, 2017

Venue/Time: The Civic Center, VI, Lagos. 11: AM Prompt

The Innovention Series is a brainchild of Verdant Zeal, which was instituted as a platform to examine the question of Africa’s development, hone in on opportunities for growth while focusing on leveraging inherent strengths.

The five-year old event attracts patrons from both the public and private sectors and has become a strong voice in stimulating pragmatic conversations that challenge the status quo. Former speakers at the event include Prof. Pat Utomi, renowned movie producer, Kunle Afolayan, Lere Baale, and co.

This year, Olalekan Olude (Jobberman), Afua Osei (SheLeadsAfrica), Maya-Horgan Faomdu (CEO, Ingressive), Temie-Giwa Tunbosun (Life Bank) and others will be speaking at the event.

Harvesters Entrepreneurs Forum: Gaining Competitive Advantage in Business

The Harvesters Entrepreneurs Forum is a monthly event organized to reach and equip entrepreneurs and people of similar inclinations with the theoretical and pratical business knowledge to help them achieve and sustain economic success.

This third edition that is scheduled to hold on the 25th of March, 2017 by 11:00am will look at how to Gain Competitive Advantage in Business. It will be a practical and interactive session with networking opportunities as the speakers take their time to share key factors to Gaining Competitive Advantage in Business this year.

Agriculture and Food Security Roundtable hosted by Business Day

Nigeria’s leading business and financial daily, BusinessDay is taking the lead to set an agenda for food security and agricultural prosperity in Nigeria. To this end, the company is organising the 2017 edition of the Agribusiness & Food Security Summit, themed; ‘Rethinking Nigeria’s Agribusiness systems: Making the case for resolving the nation’s food security challenge’

The conference will focus on :

  • Tackling Post harvest losses
  • Increasing value addition
  • Funding for agriculture, Insurance and the prerequisite of farmer education

Youth Enterprise Conference: Small Business, Big Money

Date: 30th, March, 2017

Venue: Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Nairabet CEO, Akin Alabi has announced the date for his annual youth entrepreneurship-focused event, Youth Enterprise Conference. Themed Small Business, Big Money, this year, seven young and enterprising Nigerians will come together at the Eko Hotels to share experiences on building and growing their various enterprises in Nigeria. Funke Akindele Bello, founder of Scene One, Jason Nkoju of Irok Tv, Mark Essien, founder Hotels.ng, are some of the guests outlined for the event.

Aside the experiential insights that will be shared with attending business owners, 50 attendees will share 5 million Naira at the event to help boost/kickstart their business ideas.
