ENTERPRISE54 – The Social Media Week is returning to Lagos in 2015 for a third edition. Organizing partners, Dragon Africa and AFRIKA21 have recorded two successful outings since its first-in-Africa debut in February 2013.

SMW is a global news platform that reimagines human connectivity. It is an initiative that curates and shares the best ideas, innovations and insights into how social media and technology are changing business, society and culture around the world.

The February 2015 Social Media Week will hold simultaneously in seven cities across the world – Bangalore, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Jakarta, Lagos, Milan, and New York

SMW Lagos 2015 is slated to hold at the Landmark Centre, a new state of the art event space in the heart of the city. Themed “Upwardly Mobile: The Rise of A Connected Africa”, the conference promises to showcase the best ideas, trends, and insights across several industries in Africa.

The week-long conference will feature a mix of keynotes, panels, workshops, and networking events/mixers that explore a wide range of topics including business, entertainment, education, technology and politics. SMW Lagos is free and open to the public.

Individuals and companies are invited to share their concepts and ideas at the conference, which had a social reach of 160 million last year. You may register your event at SMW Lagos until 12th December 2014, when submissions close. Your event can be about art, music, e-commerce, marketing and so many other things. The beauty of the internet also allows you to host your event from any location in the world so long as you have a good connection.

Here is a chance for Startups, small agencies, big agencies, large corporations, non-profits, government agencies, schools, universities and more to engage in the conversation on a global stage.

Obi Asika, founder of Dragon Africa and SMW Lagos Chairman had this to say:

“I am truly excited to have succeeded to bring this event home to Lagos, the largest black city in the world, I believe that we Nigerians are viral in social media and this event will showcase all the innovative ways we are using social media to impact our daily lives, it is only proper that this event should be coming to Lagos as it’s first African destination. We are reaching out to people all over the continent to get involved and come over to Lagos. From Open Government to Law & Order, from Content to Technology, from Politics to Elections we hope to explore all these themes as they relate to social media and really deliver some depth and new and exciting information.”
