Rocket Internet is at it again. Techmoran recently reported that the Berlin-based internet group has launched Vendito, a free online general classifieds now live in Senegal at Vendito.sn, in Uganda at Vendito.co.ug and Vendito.co.tz in Tanzania.

Vendito is a Latin word for ‘buy and sell.’ The business allows users buy and sell almost anything in their cities and the brand currently operates under the company Ads.com.mm, the largest online classifieds in Maynmar, Asia with more than 150,000 visits per month.

Rocket Internet entered the African Space via ecommerce entities like Jumia, Kaymu, Jovago, Hellofood, EasyTaxi and many more; obviously avoiding the areas that had clear leaders like Online Classifieds and Jobs. Now having strategically positioned itself as a force to be reckoned with in the African landscape, it feels it can now take on the likes of Naspers OLX, eBay’s Gumtree and Junkmail in the Online Classifieds space. It recently also launched Everjobs to play in the Jobs, Careers space too.
