ANOZIM, the digital marketing agency founded by former Konga Marketing Vice-President Onyeka Akumah, has created an online publishing division African Media Works (AMW) to build fresh and interesting African content online.
“There are many things I love about the internet, but there are two that stay with me always – media and e-commerce. In building sustainable media platforms, we have decided to launch AMW (African Media Works) to create and curate content for Africans while generating employment opportunities for others,” says technology entrepreneur Mr Akumah, who is actively searching for promising online content platforms to acquire or partner.
Following the new development, African Media Works acquired misstechy.com, Nigeria’s leading female creative tech blog, citing the freshness and wittiness of the platform as a competitive advantage in the male-dominated space. However, financial details of the deal have been kept confidential.
“I joined African Media Works because of their media business expertise and technology depth,” Miss Techy blogger Toby Ayeni, explains.
She furthers adding that: “Because technology drives the world we live in it should be a popular interest and not a niche interest. I started Miss Techy because I wanted to make technology content interesting.”
Miss Techy covers all things technology on the local and international scene from a fresh perspective and aims to attract more interest in technology through its light-headed and captivating content.
Given the clamour for increased women participation in tech, it’s great to see another young lady blazing the trail through tech media.
Founded in June 2015, African Media Works currently holds a portfolio of two online media brands including news and gossip blog TheRealgist.com social networking news app Qwikgist and female-focused tech blog Misstechy.com, while in ongoing discussion to acquire a sports blog.
Its parent company, ANOZIM Group consists of 3 subsidiaries focused on Digital Marketing (ADM Agency), Online Publishing (African Media Works) and Online Ad Sales (DigitalAdStore). The company has consulted for local and international companies including GTBank, TradeStable, AutoGenius, British Council, Cheki.com.ng, Guardian Nigeria, HouseholdMax, etc.

August 6, 2015, 12:12 pmIs good to see acquisition in Nigeria by Nigerians, but a shame on all the confidentiality. Looking ahead to great days for Nigeria tech. Just a heads up, your misstechy.com doesn’t work.
