CPAfrica has appointed well known Nigerian technologist and entrepreneur, Yomi Adegboye as its Managing Director. Yomi Adegboye (who is also the founder of Africa’s foremost mobile tech blog, Mobility Arena) will manage the affairs of the website and drive its next phase of growth in digital and social media.
Speaking on the appointment, CPAfrica’s founder, Nmachi Jidenma said: “Yomi brings a wealth of experience in technology and digital media and is a passionate and respected voice in the African mobile technology space. I am stoked to have him lead the site’s next phase of growth as Managing Director and I am confident in his ability to execute on the site’s vision.”
Yomi Adegboye weighed in on his appointment saying: “CPAfrica is an inspiring African brand committed to improving the continent’s global image and I am excited to lead it. Yomi Adegboye has a Masters degree in Architecture and Design from the University of Lagos. He veered into the digital space when he founded a webhost in 2003 and went on to grow it into one of Nigeria’s leading web hosts. He left web hosting in 2011 to focus on Mobility Arena which he had founded in 2008. In 2014, he founded House Of Mo to provide digital publishing beyond mobile technology as a topic.
Over the years, he has earned accolades and awards as a leading light in Nigeria’s tech/digital media space. He was listed as one of the most influential persons in technology in Nigeria by TechLoy and in February 2014, he was honoured by YNaija/Ndani TV as one of the 100 most innovative People in Nigeria’s Technology eco-system. Yomi has spoken at high profile mobile technology events in Nigeria, including MobiFEST, West Africa Telecom Summit, and the hugely popular Mobile Web West Africa conference, which he has chaired for three consecutive years.
