Apply for Barclays Africa 2017 Fintech Accelerator Program

Barclays Africa in partnership with Techstars, has opened application for African entrepreneurs with innovations in financial services to apply for the 2017 edition of the annual Barclays Accelerator Program.

Eligible to apply are startups with capability in machine learning, lending, digital banking solutions, trading, cyber security, data analytics, payments, cryptocurrency, insurance, wealth management and beyond; great teams with business and technical capabilities; those committed to develop their startups and also being based full-time at the accelerator sites for the 13 week program.

The collaboration between Barclays Africa and Techstars will see 10 qualifying fintech startups get admitted into the Barclays Africa fintech accelerator programme billed to hold from May, 2017 at the Rise fintech innovation hub in Woodstock, Cape Town.

These startups will get a lifetime membership to the prestigious Techstars alumni communities, and the opportunity to pitch their business to the influential tech community. They will also get the opportunity to scale globally through Rise sites in London, New York, Mumbai, Tel Aviv and Vilnius. Finally, the selected startups will enjoy mentorship and guidance from Barclays Africa Group’s customer, product and technology teams; as well as access to technical expertise in a collaborative community working space.

The depth of experience that the Techstars team and global mentor network has in working with and investing in over 900 start-ups is unprecedented for the African continent. The Accelerator pushes for one year’s worth of traction in three months. At the end, your company won’t come out the same regardless of stage,” these are the words of Yossi Hasson, Managing Director of Techstars, on the Barclays Africa accelerator program.
